An adult ADHD assessment begins with your history.
Planned service. Appointments are not yet open.
Worcester Men’s Health plans to offer adult ADHD assessment as part of its psychiatric service. Appointments are not yet open.
What an assessment considers
An assessment looks beyond a checklist. It considers when difficulties began, how they affect different parts of your life and whether another condition may explain them. Childhood history, interviews and relevant records can help clarify the picture.
Having attention difficulties does not establish an ADHD diagnosis.
Preparing for an appointment
Once secure intake is available, the practice will tell you which records or information would be useful. This may include previous evaluations and treatment information. Do not upload records or describe your health history in a public website form.
You do not need to select a medication before seeking an assessment. Bring questions about the evaluation and what the possible findings could mean for you.
What follows the evaluation
The findings may support ADHD, another explanation, further assessment or referral. If care within the practice is appropriate, the clinician will discuss options and follow-up with you.
An appointment fee pays for the professional service provided. It does not buy a diagnosis, stimulant prescription or automatic continuation of a previous prescription.
Fees and availability
ADHD assessment will follow the psychiatric fee-for-service structure. The scope of an initial appointment, any additional assessment fees and outside costs will be explained before booking. No ADHD subscription is planned.
